Deadly blow to a Jehovah’s Witness in Bordeaux: eleven years in prison
The verdict fell Tuesday for the author of the fatal blow to a Jehovah’s Witness last June in Bordeaux (Gironde).
He will not go to a psychiatric hospital , as he had claimed during his trial at the Assize Court in Bordeaux, but in prison.
“He hit him, for no reason”
Eleven years of criminal imprisonment : the verdict fell on Tuesday for a thirty-year-old who was judged for giving, without reason, a punch in the face of a septuagenarian in June 2016.
This lady had installed her display of Jehovah’s Witnesses magazines near the Aubiers tram stop in Bordeaux and the man had hit her, reports Sud Ouest .
She fell and she died a few days later
The victim had fallen and died a few days later.
The lawyer who defended the accused wanted to demonstrate, in vain, that this man “did not intend to cause death” and that his act was linked to the fact that he is “sick”.
The court and the jurors retained the principle of an alteration of discernment but went beyond the requisitions.
