Jehovah's Witnesses in the Media

Leggo – 23rd June 2018

Testimone di Geova accetta una trasfusione di sangue:era in fin di vita. Ripudiata dalla comunità: «Mi hanno tolto le figlie»

Jehovah’s Witness accepts a blood transfusion: she was dying. Rejected by the community: “My daughters have rejected me”.

Grace chose life, but this cost her the affection of her daughters. Grazia Di Nicola was a Jehovah’s Witness who chose to leave the community after the harassment she received for undergoing a transfusion, prohibited by their beliefs, in order to survive after surgery.

The woman is a housewife of 48 years mother of four children, lives in Colliano, a village in the province of Salerno. Your belief, however, has almost called for her to die: after an operation was necessary a transfusion, but that you have agreed to do not to die.

An unforgivable sin for her church, so much so that Grace found herself humiliated by her “brothers of worship”. It was she who introduced religion into her home, even against the initial resistance of her husband, convinced everyone (husband and then children) to attend meetings, convinced that belief was the only chance of salvation. When working for a tumor in 2016, she chooses a clinic that guarantees that she will not be transfused, but that she will lose a lot of blood and that the transfusion is necessary for survival.

Grazia chooses to live, but her choice is not forgiven by the elderly and by her three daughters who therefore repudiate her. Today the woman is experiencing a real drama. After having suffered numerous humiliations for being accepted back into the community after the transfusion, she decides to leave the community but in this way she loses the daughters who no longer recognize her as a mother and accuse her of betraying Jehovah.

The daughters, except for the male who has remained close to her, as also reported by FanPage, live in the home of an elderly man and do not seem to want to regain the dialogue with the woman who is desperate not only for the distance from the girls, but because she fears for their safety within the sect.
